What is E.P.I.C. and why does it exist?

My name is Will Charkowsky, and my mission is to give young athletes everything I never had access to. 

E.P.I.C. (Every Play is Crucial) was a thought that came to my mind amidst a tumultuous indy ball season in Santa Fe, New Mexico but it was a mindset more than anything that followed me throughout my entire playing career. 

As a pretty good high school catcher, I was told I was not good enough to play in college by a travel ball coach. At the time, I was shocked, frustrated and severely disappointed, however this lit my fire to work harder than ever before, and it worked! 

Long story short, I lost my position after two major surgeries and then won my starting position back and led my team to the NCAA tournament.

This is where my story really begins, after graduating and knowing I had more baseball to play, I went to a tryout in Boston and earned my first professional contract, but that was short lived, I was overwhelmed and the fear and doubt of making a mistake ruined that opportunity after getting off to a fast start. My anxiety got so bad that I forgot how to do the most elementary skill in catching, catch. So, I was released and heart broken but I knew I had to figure this out and give it another shot.

Which I did had some tryouts and was fortunate to receive tryouts with the Reds, Braves, and play against the Miami Marlins in spring training. I ultimately got hurt in my third year playing and decided to move on from playing professionally and became a teacher and coach. 

Now, my goal is to help each and every kid I encounter, and enhance their abilities and give them a mentor to guide them through the triumphs and adversities this game will throw our way!
